The magical journey kicks off with a scenic flight to Pokhara from Kathmandu. Next day, a short drive to Nayapul and foot trails welcomes. Oak, Rhododendrons, ferns and medicinal herbs spread their fragrances. Birds singing and monkeys swinging on branches offers experience of wilderness.   • Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu(1,300m/4,265ft) to Pokhara (820m/2,690ft): 6-7 Hours
  • Day 04: Pokhara(820m/2,690ft)– Nayapul(1,070m/3,5010ft) –Tikhedhunga Ulleri (1,960m/6,430ft), 1½ hrs drive (45 km), 6-7 hrs trek, 11 km
  • Day 05: Ulleri(1,960m/6,430ft) – Ghorepani (2,860m/9,382ft): 7km, 4-5 hrs.
  • Day 06: Walk up Poon hill (3,210m/10,531ft). Ghorepani (2,860m/9,382ft)– Tadapani (2,630m/8,630ft): 11km, 6-7 hrs.
  • Day 07: Tadapani(2,630m/8,630ft) – Ghandruk (1,940m/6,364ft) and drive to Pokhara (820m/2,690ft): 1-2 hrs trek; 3 hrs drive to Pokhara by private jeep
  • Day 08: Tourist bus Pokhara(820m/2,690ft) – Kathmandu (1300m/4265ft): 6-7 hrs drive
  • Day 09: Final Departure

Poon Hill Trek is a Grade C or a Easy difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will to, you can.

On average, you walk about 4 to 6 hours per day. One or two days can be as less as 3hrs and one or two days can be as long as 7hrs.

Are there ATMs on the way to Poonhill Trek?

No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will have to draw enough cash in Pokhara or Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.

What about internet access?

Yes. Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.
